White suacy stuff spewing out of gum

When I had my tooth removed, The dentist never stitched it up properly, after two hours the stiches came out, my nose felt blocked, I put my finger on my nose and blew and white saucy stuff came out of my gum, Then went back to the dentsist the following day, the dentist then had to call another more professional dentist to come ad inspect, they never did tell what it was although they seemed shock to see this and all they did was stich it up correctly, I would like to know what that white sauce was and was it a bad sign or what?
