White Spot under Molar on Xray

Hello! Does anyone have any idea what this white spot under molar #19 could be on this xray photo? There is no pain or numbness when interacting with the tooth. No smoking, drinking, or drug habits.

Dentist says it is an infection and may need a root canal operation to fix it, but I wanted to get a secondary opinion before I plunge into getting one. From what I've seen, infections are usually darker spots in an x-ray rather than brighter ones. Any help would be appreciated!

Here is a link to the x-ray image:

Good day
This doesn't look like an infection to me. Although the x-ray quality is a bit poor, this might be a cementoma or osseous dysplasia. These are benign growths. Usually we recommend only observing the area, until there is a drastic enlargement or symptoms arise. Most often these stay like this for the rest of your life, without requiring any intervention. Do you have previous x-rays to compare ?
