I've got an appointment for stage 2 at my dental office they use two different brands neodent for #2 and high Nobel for #15. One surgeon made me wait 6 months and then I saw another due to schedule fit who placed high Nobel telling me to wait 4 months.

From my understanding stage two is simply a healing cap and impressions where they cut a slit and put in the healing abutment. Kind of werid how some have that two month window.

Sorry if this is the wrong board still learning the place.

In dental implantology, stage 2 usually follows the initial placement of the implant (stage 1). During stage 1, an implant fixture is surgically placed into the jawbone. After this procedure, there is a healing period during which osseointegration occurs this is when the bone grows around and integrates with the implant. The duration of this healing phase can vary based on several factors including individual healing capacity, type of bone, and whether any additional procedures (like bone grafting) were performed.

The timing for moving to stage 2 can vary significantly among patients. In your case, you mentioned waiting six months initially before seeing another surgeon who then advised waiting four more months after placing a different brand of implant
Different brands and types of implants may have different recommended healing times based on their design and material properties

It may seem unusual that some patients have shorter or longer waiting periods before proceeding to stage 2, this variability is influenced by many factors including individual health conditions and specific surgical practices. Always consult with your dental professional about any concerns regarding timing or procedures related to your dental implants.
