Treating Periodontitis

A good friend of mine has been diagnosed with periodontitis, and they’re understandably feeling a bit overwhelmed. They’ve been experiencing inflamed gums, bleeding, and sensitivity, and I’m keen to help them find some effective products to support their treatment.

I know professional dental care is essential, and they’re already seeing a periodontist. But I’d like to know if there are any specific products you’ve tried or would recommend to complement their professional care.

The periodontist usually gives his own advice regarding what protocol to follow, but I can suggest buying an ultrasoft toothbrush.
GSK released a toothpaste, specifically designed to combat gum related issues, called Parodontax. He can consider using this.
Home maintenance is key, meaning regular brushing and flossing as well.
He can also use an alcohol free mouthrinse.

It’s important that your friend continues regular visits with their periodontist, who will monitor their condition and adjust treatment as necessary based on their progress.
Professional dental care is important in managing periodontitis, incorporating specific oral hygiene products like soft-bristled toothbrushes, specialized toothpaste, antimicrobial mouthwashes, interdental cleaners, and possibly some natural remedies can significantly aid in supporting their treatment plan.
