Had a filling at the base of #31 near the gum line in April 2024. Healed fine. Felt no pain.
8 weeks later began experiencing sensitivity. Slight pain/discomfort with colder foods and drinks and when chewing harder foods. Resolved after about 2-3 weeks. The filling has always been a little painful when pushed, but eating and drinking has been fine.
Now, mid January, the same discomfort has returned. Mostly cold and sweet foods cause irritation. Chewing is a little uncomfortable, but the issue is more with sensitivity to food/drink. Even room temperature water causes slight pain. When not eating, I can feel an ache/irritation in that area.
Google said this is abnormal and could be cause for concern. A week before the pain started, I did visit the dentist for a regular cleaning. I had no pain at the time and x-rays were taken. I was told everything looked good.
What’s the next step? Give it more time? Could resolve on its own again? Or back to the dentist who told me three weeks ago everything was fine?
Thanks!
