Strange shadow on x-ray in tooth which doesn't look like tooth decay

Hello,

I'm 23 years old. I went to the dentist today and they took an X-ray of my teeth.

Before this I was told I am at low risk of tooth decay because I don't have any fillings or any other problems with my teeth.

After the X-ray my dentist told me there was a problem in one of my bottom teeth near the back of my mouth. She said it didn't look like tooth decay but something uncommon. I can't remember what she suggested it might be but she said it might have to be taken out however I would need to see another dentist to discuss what I wanted to do about it.

The X-ray showed my tooth with a darker shadow on one side. She said it was something strange but it didn't look like tooth decay. The dentist poked around it with some tools and it didn't hurt at all.

Anyone know what this might be? Or anyone else experienced this?
