Son has huge white spot under bottom front teeth

Our son has this huge white bar shaped spot under his gums and has been complaining about pain in his lower jaw for about a week. We took him to the dentist for the pain and they said it was nothing but this white spot has appeared since then. What could this be? Son describes the pain as 4/10

I don’t but he is 6

Would need an x-ray to give more information. Cannot see clearly on the photo. At this age the lower permanent incisors tend to erupt. The white that you see might be the top part of the permanent tooth, slowly pushing through the gum.
