Should we get a 2nd opinion?

Our son has had this odd mark on his gum. It has a whitish hard center and red vein around it.
The dentist was unsure what it was so he sent us to Oral Surgery.

They believe it is adult tooth coming in and irrating the gum?

It has been almost 6 weeks and the area has not improved.

What are your thoughts on what it might be?

Looks like it might be a permanent tooth erupting. An x-ray would confirm this.

Is it normal for it to be that high up?

He still has the baby tooth below it.

It might be due to the angulation of eruption of the permanent tooth being slightly off. This is normal.
