I have always done a diligent job of brushing my teeth and go through flossing "phases"... However, within the last year or two, I've noticed my gums receding, exposing a very, very sensitive area of teeth. There is also a thin line of what appears to be build-up along the gum line on the teeth. At my last dental check-up, I pleaded with them not to scrape those areas as it was one of the most painful things I've felt (as I've tried to pick at it before for investigative purposes) I hoped they would advise me in SOME way (Maybe that they could administer some sort of deadening agent and proceed to save my teeth) but they simply smiled and said they would avoid the sensitive areas and these areas of build-up were never touched. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to remove this without causing so much pain?
