Pain one wk after root canal

Hi everyone. 2 yrs ago my tooth was cracked after dentist filled a cavity. Ive had pain ever since so decided to go ahead n have root canal done. That was one wk ago n im still having pain. The oain is usually only when i try to chew on it. No matter how soft food is it still hurts. I also feel pain when i try to lighting brush it. Cold n hot dont seem to cause pain tho. I went back to dentist two days ago n he said everything was fine n to wait a few more days to recheck. I c him tomoro n i still can not eat on it at all. I also have a bruise on my face which seems to b getting worse. I asked dentist about bruise n he said it was from the novacaine. Id just like to know what i should expect when i c dentist tomoro morning.

I'd get a second opinion preferably from an endodontist. I'm sure all sorts can happen from a dental injection but I've never heard of a bruised face before. It's possible that your tooth was cracked partway down the root and will have to be extracted. But if that was the case the dentist should have noticed.

Ty for getting back to me. Im trying to avoid endodontist due to money issues. Im just not going over 1k w one tooth. Im already at 7 hundred. I actually tried to have it extracted after first dentist cracked it. He wouldnt do it saying it was a healthy tooth. Not after u broke it ahole! Anyway- it just always seems to b an issue w this new dentist. Ive never had a cavity or any problems w my teeth til i started going there. Y do i go there? Its Insurance. If he wants to send me to specialist which i know he does im just telling him to yank it! Like the original plan.
Im just going to assume the crack went further down n no root canal can fix that. I knew i shoulda had it pulled! Ty again for ur reply.
