Pain for 6 months; not very red but hurts terribly

I have been having chronic sore throats on my left side that seems to be stemming from a red spot by my back left molars. The redness isn't all too bad here, but the pain is terrible. It feels like it bumps up slightly there too which is strange. Any ideas as to what this might be? Could this be something with a wisdom tooth? I'm 32 so I don't think it is too probable I randomly grew wisdom teeth this late..

i'd need to see Xrays. The photos show only normal anatomy.
