Hello Dentists,
I would like to know if it is possible to treat and save these teeth or they can only be extracted?
I saw two dentists and both advised extraction and implants afterwards.
I would appreciate your second opinion.
Thank you in advance

Although cast metal posts and cores can technically be removed, there is a high risk of fracturing the roots. I think in terms of what would be the best long term solution. I would agree that the better solution, might be to extract the teeth, and consider implants.

Thank you, Dr M
Can I also ask if both wisdom teeth should be removed?

In my opinion, I would also remove the wisdom teeth. There is not enough space for the lower one, so there is a high chance of recurrent pericoronitisis and the upper one also seems carious.

I was hoping that the upper wisdom tooth would be able to take the place of the removed 7th tooth… :/
Thanks for your opinion, Dr M

It might be possible, but you will have to consider orthodontic treatment. The upper 8 won't move into the space completely.
