Is this a cavity? (Pictures included)

I found this small dark pit/indent on my front tooth near the gum line. It's the size of a needle point in real life. Very small.

No pain or sensitivity.

I don't feel it when I run my tongue over it; I only know that it's pitted/indented by running a dental explorer across the tooth. The explorer dips down and snags on it.

Is this a cavity? And if so, can it still be reversed or halted with great hygiene and a high-fluoride toothpaste like Prevident 5000?

Or is getting it drilled my only option at this point?

Try high fluoride toothpaste first and see if it enlarges or stays the same. If it enlarges over a period of months, you would need to fill it. I think at this stage it is too small to see on an x-ray.
