Is A green-brown scab post-extraction normal?

i had a molar removed a week ago and the pain hasn't eased since. I've been alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol. My very kind husband took a photo of the area and it looks like there is a small greeny brown scab and I'm wondering if that is normal or a sign of infection?
