Hey @rosav1987! I completely understand how stressful this process can feel, especially when dealing with implant placement. All on 4 is a great option for many patients looking to restore their smile is a short period of time as long as they are a good candidate. If you're feeling overwhelmed, I offer free 15-minute zoom consultations where I help people plan and understand their treatment.
Feel free to book an appointment.

One of the primary advantages of implant overdentures is their enhanced stability. Because they are anchored to implants placed in the jawbone. As you noted, implant overdentures can be thinner than regular dentures. This design allows for a more natural feel and appearance, as well as potentially reducing the bulkiness.
Many patients who have transitioned from traditional dentures to implant overdentures report significant improvements in their quality of life. Common themes in patient experiences include
  • Increased confidence while eating out or socializing.
  • Improved speech clarity compared to wearing standard dentures.
  • A sense of permanence that comes from having teeth anchored securely in place.
Consulting a specialist who has experience with both all-on-four techniques and implant overdentures could be beneficial for you as you navigate this decision-making process. It’s advisable to ask about their specific approach, success rates, patient testimonials, and any potential risks involved during your consultation tomorrow.

Implant overdentures can be life-changing for many people. Since they snap onto implants, they provide much better stability than regular dentures, reducing slipping and irritation. The fact that they are thinner is also a major benefit, as they tend to feel more natural in the mouth. However, they do require proper hygiene and occasional maintenance, as the attachments can wear down over time. Since you’re considering both upper and lower overdentures, it's good to discuss with your specialist whether four implants per arch will provide the stability you need.
