A buddy of mine got an implant last year and he called me today saying he sneezed last night and the implant came out. It’s just a little tooth with a spike sticking out of the base. He’s having financial issues due to helping out family members recently and he’s wondering about how much it would cost to get the implant back in, and if it’s worth it to do so since it was in less than a year.

There might be some confusion here. It might be that he actually got a crown with a post ( pin) that came loose.
This can be recemented.
Does he have a photo of the tooth?

Have him call the office directly about it. Some may offer a warranty or they could just need to rescrew it which can go up to $300 in my area USD.

I think you’re right. He thought it was an implant because he paid $500 aside from what insurance covered and then he got billed for another $500 but his gf told him there’s a tiny part of a tooth still in the gum.

Does it look like any bone is in the crown? Then it maybe able to be reseated like Dr M mentioned.
