I went to see a Periodontist and I have severe gum recession on two of my lower front teeth. I'm a 27 year old female, non-smoker, otherwise healthy. The periodontist told me it's an "easy" surgery with a 5 day recovery time frame - the problem is, I'm going abroad for graduate school soon, and I don't have the time to make the surgery before I leave. I won't have dental insurance while I'm abroad, which means I'd need to put off the FGG for a year. Is that too long? What are the risks of waiting another year to do this surgery?
