Flapping piece of gum question / help

Hi all

Picture attached can anyone offer any advice on what this is? It really worries me it looks like a piece of gum that is flappy between the broken tooth but I suffer with health anxiety so constantly think it's sinister and the dreaded C word

I know I need to get booked in to sort my teeth out and I am in the process of doing so but cannot get into a dentist for weeks

You can see the shattered tooth at both sides of it

It doesn't look like cancer but the tooth fragment is a source of infection that needs to be removed. Find another dentist that can see you sooner.
