Hello,
I recently switched to a new dentist for a routine cleaning, and afterward, they recommended crowns on teeth #3 and #4, a possible root canal due to “deep decay., in addition to other work that caught me off guard. No issues at previous 8ish month follow-up with old long time dentist.
Since the cleaning (Jan 23rd, 2025), I’ve had on-and-off dull aches, in teeth, but notice in upper right teeth (been about slightly over the week) but no extreme pain. The new dentist suggested its possible because of the xray findings.
Here are my main questions:

Here are my main questions:
- Do my X-rays support the need for crowns and a possible root canal?
- Could post-cleaning sensitivity explain the dull aches?
- Is a CBCT scan justified in this situation?
- I do not smoke or drink.
- No known medical conditions affecting my teeth.
- Attaching my X-rays for reference.
