Does this make any sense?

I have a lower molar with an extremely worn down onlay that is 10 years old. I was having some on and off aching. I told the dentist and she said my bite was high on that tooth and she would file it down “a dusting.” I thought to myself why would I file down something that is already worn? I tried to say no but she had her hand in my mouth and she actually got almost belligerent and insisted on doing it. Now I am feeling more pain in that tooth. She said there are no cavities there and the onlay doesn’t need to be replaced yet. I can’t believe this. She also said at first in the future she could put a new filling there but when I asked her if she could replace the onlay then she said no it needs a crown in the future. I don’t trust this dentist now to do any work on me. Here is a photo of the tooth but it is very unclear. Am I right not to trust her?

Based on the information provided and considering factors such as communication breakdown, increased pain post-procedure, and conflicting treatment advice, it is reasonable to question whether you can trust this dentist moving forward. You are justified in feeling distrustful towards this dentist due to her handling of your concerns, the increase in pain after treatment, and inconsistent future treatment recommendations.
