Denture stability question.

Hi all,

I am hoping someone can give me some advice.
I need dentures as many of my back teeth need removing. I would like to keep only the top 4 and bottom 6 at the front but my dentist has advised to keep some of the back teeth where possible to help the stability of the dentures. Does anyone have any experience which may help with my decision either way.

Many thanks in advance.

Keeping some of the back teeth will definitely help with the stability of the denture. Anterior teeth do not provide enough retention and stability and then you end up having a rocking denture, when going through function.
