Hello. 6 days ago i went in to get a molar removed because of a bad cavity. I’m still having some throbbing pains (not unbearable) and my extraction site is greenish/blackish/yellowish . Is this normal?
This might be an indication of a dry socket. This is common in bottom extractions, since food and other particles can get stuck in the socket easily.
I would make a follow up visit with my dentist, so that he can wash out the socket and allow a new blood clot to form, in order to facilitate healing.
He will also give antibiotics if he hasn't done so already.
Hello, yesterday I spoke to a nurse over the phone and ate her the same pic I did here . She said everything looks normal and it may be that color because of the granulation tissue is forming and also from the blood . However, it still throbs on and off . He prescribed me 800mg ibuprofen. Do you think I should still go get it checked out? This is how it looks today ....
