I'm 73 and very worried that my dentist needs to do a complex extraction of my lower-right back tooth. Although it's the tooth furthest back, the dentist says it isn't a wisdom tooth (it's LR7 - UK numbering, the second molar). Although 'complex' (badly broken below gumline, multi-rooted), is this likely to be an easier extraction than a wisdom tooth? Or am I clutching at straws to hope so?
