Abutment x-rays 3 weeks after surgery

I had surgery for upper abutments placed 3 weeks ago. I went back yesterday and they didn’t take x-rays? I find this questionable, because how does my dentist know that the abutments are healing okay without x-rays? I am wearing temporary arches at this time. Please help me…I am so nervous right now.

The abutments are only used to cover the implant screws. Only the gum around the abutment heals and gum tissue is not visible on an x-ray. X-rays are usually taken after about 6 weeks and then at 10 weeks in order to evaluate integration of the implant with the bone.
