2 1/2 week after root canal tooth still sore

I had root canal on a upper back tooth #15 because of fracture . It was fine till the 3 or 4 day ( chewed soft food on it ) that night it started hurting . It is sorta quickie & sore . I went to dentist and he took 3D x-rays and said that everything looks good . He said that I needed to give it more time . I am worried that will loose this tooth , need it to chew on it (running out of teeth ) , any advise ?

Hopefully the root canal tooth will respond better soon. Once the tooth is stable, have your dentist put a crown over it to protect it.
